Learning to dress my changing figure and growing bump is a hurdle in itself, let alone when I’m out and about attending London fashion week shows. One thing I didn’t realise is that all of my go-to pieces from printed silk trousers to pleated skirts were now totally off-limits, packed away in storage for 2019 when my waistline returns. There are a handful of my favourite brands who’ve really shone bright for me during this pregnancy: Cos, Finery, Arket and Joseph. I’ve always loved getting dressed for fashion week but that has never meant that changing my style for one that is more attractive to street style photographers. Personally, serious high heels are a no-no because by 11 o’clock your feet are bleeding and no trend or style is worth that pain and misery. Cool and dare I say comfy shoes (mules, slides, sneakers) are a must, so you can pound the streets or at the least carry an emergency pair of flats in your bag. My ‘look’ has had something of an elasticated update because needs must; lucky both my wardrobe and Arket offer up a few great pieces with a bit of stretch and give. Mixing comfort with trends is how I rolled with LFW this season, from super-slouchy cream Arket trousers with a stunning snake print jacket from Finery to my leather tracksuit bottoms with slip-on white mules and pearly slides to navy tailoring with a bright clementine coloured silky blouse.
Feeling good makes me feel my best, whether it is fashion week or not.
I am going to do a post dedicated to pregnancy fashion and styling tips which I have learnt, including my bit on the Sheer Luxe Show where I talk through my go-to brands and designs if you are with bump.
